International Automotive Media Conference for the website wintonhistory.com (The first to receive this award in the class.

As a Winton historian, Bernie consulted with and appeared in the documentary video Race of the Century produced by The Ford Motor Company and Greenfield Village (2001), which celebrates the 100-year anniversary of the race between Henry Ford and Alexander Winton and contributed to other works such as Ken Burns’ PBS documentary Horatio’s Drive (2003), about the first automobile (a 1903 Winton) to have successfully made it across the United States.

Bernie is currently on the AACA Board of Directors as vice president of Library & Research Center and vice president of Strategic Planning. He says it’s an honor to be on the national board of the oldest, most international and diverse collector car club in the world.

He’s also working diligently as assistant vice president of National Headquarters and actively participates on various committees, i.e. youth development, volunteer recruitment, event planning and development, training and development and scholarship review. He served as president of the Ohio Region’s Northern Ohio Chapter for six consecutive terms (2006-12), acted as tour and show chairman for many local and regional events. Also, he’s presently the president of the Ohio Region and serves on the Ohio Technical College Board of Advisors.
